BME GTK’s “Beyond Business School” initiative reflects a transformative approach to business education. Under the leadership of Dean Mária Dr. Szalmáné Csete (picture), the faculty integrates economics with technology, social context, ethics, and multilingual training. With strong project-based learning, corporate partnerships, internships, and international programs – including EFMD accreditation – the faculty prepares students not just with facts, but with the ability to think critically, responsibly, and within complex global systems. This holistic model aims to give graduates a lasting competitive edge in both Hungarian and international job markets.
What does BME GTK offer beyond a standard business education?
At BME GTK, economic and social sciences are taught within a technical-university environment. Students learn to think about economics, innovation, and decision-making in a multidisciplinary setting, naturally integrating technological and social perspectives. The student experience at GTK combines professional, practical, and community dimensions – they don’t just deliver knowledge. The faculty maintains one of the best teacher-student ratios, avoiding mass education. Emphasis on project-based teaching, corporate partnerships, and internship opportunities means many students hold junior or professional internships during their studies. The curriculum and scheduling are designed to support learning and professional experiences that reinforce each other. The faculty offers English-language programs, Erasmus scholarships, and professional-language courses in five languages.
The EFMD-accredited programs signal to employers that graduates are adaptable, open-minded, and internationally competitive.
“Beyond Business School” strategy is not merely a slogan, but a guiding philosophy. It means that economic knowledge is complemented with technological, social, and ethical dimensions. Students are taught to think responsibly and holistically in a fast-changing technological world. They learn to see business problems within complex systems, understanding economic rationale, technological possibilities, and social consequences simultaneously. This prepares them for secure employment and long-term success, both locally and internationally.
