Staff visit from the Viseu School of Health / Portugal
On April 22, 2026, a delegation of administrative staff from the Viseu School of Health visited the Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences (GTK) at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME).
The Polytechnic Institute of Viseu (incl. Viseu School of Health) is a public higher education institution in the heart of Portugal, offering nursing-related courses, modules, or intensive programmes taught in English. English-taught opportunities within the Erasmus+ framework focus on short-term academic mobility.
The representatives visited BME GTK for the first time to compare practices, exchange ideas with our university and Faculty, and receive information about the Erasmus programmes of GTK, programmes taught in English and the administrative work and tasks, best practises. The delegation first attended an information session introducing BME, the Faculty, and the International Student Office at BME GTK.
The programme also included a tour of Building Q and the historic BME campus, where the delegation learned about the university’s long history and its world-renowned achievements.
Staff mobilities enable administrative staff to meet their counterparts and gain new perspectives on their professional practices. More recently, these exchanges focused on sustainability and quality management – two strategic areas at the heart of institutional development. Through meetings, discussions, and on-site observations, participants not only shared expertise but also built lasting professional connections.
By creating spaces for dialogue, peer learning and reflection, the meeting enabled staff to step outside their daily routines and engage with shared challenges from a European perspective. The visit provided a great opportunity for cultural exchange, building a new, prosperous, meaningful, practice-oriented partnership between the Viseu School of Health and BME GTK.
