Please note that due to the holiday season,\u00a0<strong>the International Students\u2019 Office will be closed between 23<sup>rd<\/sup>\u00a0December 2021 and 3<sup>rd<\/sup>\u00a0January<\/strong> <strong>2022.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In Hungary,&nbsp;<strong>Christmas starts with Christmas Eve, which is the 24<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;December (Friday). That day, many shops will close at 12:00 (noon), and the rest will close at 14:00.<\/strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;After that, streets will become rather empty because for most families, this is the time to decorate their Christmas tree and place their presents under it, and then to unwrap the presents and have a festive dinner.<br><br><strong>The 25<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;and 26<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;are Christmas Days, so all shops will remain closed.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The 31<sup>st<\/sup>&nbsp;of December is New Year&#8217;s Eve.<\/strong>&nbsp;Similarly, to Christmas Eve,&nbsp;<strong>many shops will close at 12:00 (noon), and the rest will close at 14:00.<\/strong>&nbsp;Celebrations start in the afternoon, and last till next morning.<br><br><strong>The 1<sup>st<\/sup>&nbsp;January is New Year&#8217;s Day, so all shops will remain closed.<\/strong>&nbsp;From the 2<sup>nd<\/sup>&nbsp;January, life will return to normal.<br><br>Other public places (cafes, restaurants, cinemas, skating rinks, spas, etc.) will have various opening hours during the holidays. Therefore, if you have particular preferences for going out, we suggest you check their opening hours. Please note that the public transport will also have a special holiday schedule.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wishing you and your family brighter days ahead and may this holiday season sparkle with moments of love, laughter and goodwill.
