Dr. Aida Guliyeva, the dean of the SABAH Center of the State University of Economics of Azerbaijan (UNEC), paid a three-day visit to our Faculty with 16 bachelor students on 21-23 March 2022. The purpose of the visit was to map further opportunities for cooperation between the two universities and to provide the Azeri students with a deeper introduction to our Finance Master Program in English.
The delegation was welcomed by Dr. Emília Csiszár, Vice-Rector for International Affairs accompanied by Dr. Tamás Koltai, Dean, Dr. Mária Szalmáné Csete, Vice-Dean for International Affairs, and Dr. András Bethlendi, Vice-Dean for Finance and Programme Director of Finance Master program. The students of BME GTK were represented by the Students’ Union including Péter Bódig, President and Georgina Szabó, Foreign Affairs Officer.
After the reception, the Azeri group was taken on an interactive campus tour by the Students’ Union. The following day, the BME Business Club led by Richard Sedlák organized a networking event on Margaret Island for the visitors.
The Azerbaijani students attended two lectures in the Finance Master program. They learnt about finance and business ethics by Dr. László Vértessy, and they gained some insight into economic history by Dr. András Póra. The Dean of the UNEC SABAH Center, Dr. Aida Guliyeva gave a lecture to the students of the master courses in English of our Faculty where she presented a comparative analysis of the Azerbaijani and Hungarian economies.
The visit ended with a discussion on the cooperation possibilities between the two universities. As a result, the collaboration between the teaching and research colleagues of the two universities will soon be expanded with new elements.
