Mission Statement

The Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences has been operating since 1998 at Budapest University of Technology and Economics, one of the most prestigious higher education institutions in Hungary.

As a faculty, our mission is to contribute to the sustainable solution of the challenges of the coming decades through our interdisciplinary educational, research and innovation activities across the fields of engineering, economics and social sciences represented by the University.

Our aim is to strengthen our position in the Hungarian and international higher education market by educating the best Hungarian and international students and by providing high quality, competitive undergraduate, master’s and doctoral programmes. Our programmes focus on technological and social innovations to prepare our students to act responsibly and ethically in the rapidly changing business and social environment of the coming decades.

We strive to make the most of the opportunities offered by the cooperation between the fields of economics, social sciences and engineering. High-quality research in an international context addressing the economic, social and environmental problems of long-term sustainability can contribute to understanding and addressing both existing and emerging challenges.
