Here is the new EELISA call for proposals – an idea could be worth up to €15,000!

2025.02.14.

Applications with innovative and interdisciplinary projects that support challenge-based learning are open until March 15.

The EELISA alliance, which brings together 10 European universities, is launching its 5th call for proposals to support communities. Founded in 2020 with the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME) as a founding member, EELISA encourages students, educators, and researchers to join forces on academic and community-driven initiatives. This time, a total of €140,000 in funding is available.

Each project can receive up to €15,000 (it was up to €10,000 in the previous round) for innovative and interdisciplinary ideas.

Proposals will be evaluated based on their impact, learning innovation, and feasibility.

Priority will be given to projects that facilitate challenge-based learning and contribute to achieving the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.

The EELISA Joint Call 5 website highlights examples such as a pioneering hackathon aimed at improving access to clean water, a workshop on carbon-neutral leadership training, and a webinar promoting fairness in academia.

Online or Hybrid Format

All projects must be conducted online or in a hybrid format to broaden participant access while minimizing environmental impact. Implementation must take place after June 1, 2025.

Questions can be addressed via email at eelisa@bme.hu or directly to the organizers during a Zoom meeting on February 14 (registration required). Additionally, BME will hold an online information session on February 18 at 11:00 AM via Teams.

The application deadline is March 15, and the official call for proposals can be accessed here.
