This year, the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences (GTK) held the 26th Intensive seminar. The event, held from October 17 to 19, featured many international lectures. Presentations and workshops focused on interdisciplinary fields including AI, circular economy, climate risk, behaviour change and performance optimization. The seminar also focused on providing better understanding and developing competences in communication skills and corporate governance. This year’s event welcomed both GTK alumni and corporate representatives, who shared their insights and experiences from the professional world. The three-day event featured 23 lectures and 36 workshops, delivered by a total of 62 professionals. Among the presenters were 35 trainers and 27 lecturers, including 35 international and industry experts who shared innovative solutions from various fields. Over 500 students attended the event.
This event was a wonderful occasion for our alumni to stay connected to their GTK roots. By reuniting with friends, colleagues, and faculty members, previous mentors, they were able to foster lasting relationships and create new professional avenues. We were delighted to have the presence of accomplished alumni like Anisha Shahani (Master in Management and Leaderhip) and Ayşe Göç Yalçinkaya (Master in Regional and Environmental Economics), who continue to inspire and contribute to our vibrant community.
The annual seminar offers GTK students a valuable opportunity to expand their knowledge and gain practical experience beyond the curriculum. It provides direct, face-to-face exposure to current industry trends, featuring tailored topics that are actively researched in the field. Additionally, the seminar fosters a strong sense of community, allowing students to strengthen connections with their peers, mentors, and faculty members.
The students’ feedback on the seminar was overwhelmingly positive, with participants sharing their impressions in their own words here.
This year’s intensive seminar was a remarkable success for both our lecturers and students, with valuable feedback gathered as we look forward to making next year’s event even better. Stay tuned and follow our Alumni news and we will be sharing all the details on the same GTK Alumni website here.
