This Was the 27th Intensive Course at BME GTK

2025.11.20.

In 2025, the Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences (GTK) at BME organized the highly successful Intensive Course for the 27th time, continuing to provide a unique opportunity for students to gain diverse practical knowledge in just three days. The event once again attracted great interest: 366 master’s students participated in the program, which focused on innovation, professional development, and knowledge transfer.

The driving force behind the course was the outstanding professionals: a total of 65 speakers joined, including 11 international presenters. In addition, 20 alumni returned to share insights into their career paths and inspire current students. We are proud that 26 GTK lecturers contributed to the sessions, going beyond the standard curriculum with their innovative approaches. This year, former President Áder János honored us with his presence. His lecture, “Climate, Water, Sustainability – Where Is the World Heading? What Can We Do?”, not only provided valuable insights for attendees but also reinforced BME GTK’s current educational and research directions.

A special highlight of the program was the “Living Book” event, where 13 professionals and leaders shared their personal stories, career journeys, and life experiences. The strong connection between experts and students was reflected in an exceptional ratio: this year’s event achieved a 5:1 student-to-instructor ratio.

Throughout the week, 61 sessions were held, engaging 3,000 student seats. The diverse offerings included 31 workshops (18 in Hungarian, 13 in English) and 30 lectures (12 in Hungarian, 18 in English). The course themes once again revolved around future-shaping areas: artificial intelligence, sustainability, entrepreneurship, negotiation techniques, data visualization, and complex problem-solving – topics that are not only timely but increasingly influential in shaping the labor market and societal thinking.

Behind the scenes, a dedicated team of 50 faculty staff members, both academic and non-academic, ensured the program ran smoothly, maintaining high professional standards and creating an inspiring experience for all participants.

One of the most valuable aspects of this year’s course was its interdisciplinarity: perspectives from economics, psychology, and technology converged, effectively stimulating students’ creative thinking. This approach perfectly aligns with BME GTK’s “Beyond Business School” concept, a cornerstone of the Faculty’s strategic vision. The program was not merely about sharing professional knowledge but also about promoting a mindset that views the integration of economic, technological, and social knowledge as the key to the future.

The three-day intensive course demonstrated that BME GTK can create a platform where university students, alumni, and key players from the corporate sector come together to prepare for future challenges. We continuously develop the program to ensure it remains one of BME GTK’s most inspiring and impactful educational, community, and professional events.
