Kraków hosted the international workshop of the EIT Higher Education Initiative (IVAP 2025), welcoming nearly 400 educators, researchers, industry experts, and policymakers from across Europe. The event aimed to strengthen the innovation and entrepreneurial capabilities of higher education institutions while addressing significant societal challenges such as climate change, food security, and the responsible and transparent use of artificial intelligence. The program also emphasized how universities can better support innovation-driven skills development and help grow entrepreneurial ecosystems.
The Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME) participated in the event through the InnovaCyBridge project. Supported by the EIT HEI Initiative, the project aims to strengthen collaboration among higher education institutions, industry players, and regional innovation ecosystems. Its focus areas include cybersecurity, digital skills development, enterprise development processes, and the promotion of sustainable innovations. In the long run, the initiative aims to boost universities’ innovation capacity through ecosystem-based collaboration and foster new, lasting partnerships between academic and industry stakeholders.
Professional discussions and networking during the conference emphasized that cooperation, knowledge sharing, and strategic planning centered on common goals are crucial for enhancing the innovative role of higher education. BME remains dedicated to promoting knowledge transfer, supporting student and staff initiatives, and expanding collaboration opportunities with industrial and international partners through the InnovaCyBridge project.
