On November 28, the campus of the Budapest University of Technology and Economics was once again filled to capacity: more than 8,000 participants registered for Friday’s Open Day. As one of the largest higher education open days in Hungary, the event once again attracted huge interest among high school students.
The Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences (GTK) received special attention: nearly 2,000 visitors attended the faculty’s programs, an outstanding figure compared to previous years. The central venue of GTK, the lobby of Building Q, had already been crowded before the programs began, and activity continued throughout the day. At the stands, faculty members, students, and staff welcomed visitors, who had the chance to learn about the faculty’s diverse study programs, student organizations, and the GTK Student Union.
The sample lectures also drew great interest: for several sessions, seats were fully booked well before the start. Feedback shows that high school students particularly appreciated the practice-oriented presentations enriched with student experiences.
The numbers speak for themselves: interest in economic and social sciences remains strong, and BME GTK continues to rank among the most popular business faculties in Hungary. The high attendance at the Open Day clearly demonstrates that the faculty’s programs are competitive and promise students real, marketable knowledge.
This year’s Open Day at BME was successful in every respect: inspiring meetings and presentations, interactive programs, and a large number of enthusiastic visitors – and GTK can rightfully be proud of the attention it received once again.
