Dear Students, Colleagues, and Partners,
It is a great honour for me to welcome you as Dean of the Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences at Budapest University of Technology and Economics. I see it a special privilege and responsibility to lead a Faculty where interdisciplinarity, a technical and economic perspective, and practice-oriented education together form the foundation of our everyday work. This approach is fully aligned with the BME GTK Beyond Business School concept, which goes beyond the traditional boundaries of business education. The mission of GTK is to offer programmes that respond to the rapidly changing demands of the modern economy, providing our students not only with theoretical knowledge but also with practical, applicable skills that give them a genuine competitive advantage.
Our Faculty does not merely impart knowledge but also plays an active role in shaping responses to societal challenges, promoting sustainable development, and encouraging innovation. All of this is closely linked to our research activities, which aim – based on scientific excellence – to contribute to a deeper understanding of economic and social processes. We believe that a meaningful understanding of economic and social issues – whether related to organizational operations, financial processes, or communication – can only be truly effective if they are also examined within a technical and technological context. For this reason, we encourage our students to engage in international mobility, research and innovation activities, and collaborations with industry.
Our EFMD international programme accreditations and the international recognition of our programmes demonstrate that BME GTK is competitive by global standards. At the same time, I believe it is important that we serve as a benchmark not only internationally but also at the national level in the field of education and training, preserving BME’s centuries-old academic traditions while remaining open to the renewal of education and research. Even during their studies, our students have opportunities to take on internships and actively participate in corporate and university projects, supported by a flexible and modern curriculum.
Furthermore, the continuous development of our educational portfolio is a key focus: through new STEM-related programmes, courses jointly developed with our corporate partners, and English-language international programmes, we aim to further strengthen the position of GTK. I believe that technology, innovation, sustainability, and social responsibility are closely interconnected, and only in this way can our education become even more consistently student- and partner-centred.

As a community, we are building the future together: we encourage one another toward excellence, support collaboration, and believe that BME GTK represents a distinctive mindset and value-based community that goes beyond traditional Faculty frameworks and gives GTK a clearly recognizable identity within BME. Personally, it is important to me to represent a collaborative, open, and future-oriented leadership approach, building on BME’s centuries-old traditions and the nearly three decades of our Faculty’s history, that serves not only the development of the Faculty but also the progress of the entire University.
I thank everyone for their commitment and cooperation so far, and I look forward with optimism to the future, where together we can shape the future of our Faculty and our community.
