In March of 2020 the university had to make a quick transition to online learning. While a Moodle system was available for use even before the outbreak, the pandemic turned this optional method into a necessity. Once the semester ended, the instructors of GTK got together for a series of 6 online lectures between 3-4 June 2020, and shared their experiences gained during the spring semester, as well as the best practices that may be worth using in the future.
Day 1 lectures:
László Molnár spoke about Moodle; specifically, how to design study material using the SCORM standard, implementing them in a Moodle environment, and the advantages such a solution entailed.
Péter Csigó used Pear deck options attached to Google Card and Microsoft Power Point presentations to demonstrate ways of making online presentations more interactive with the students.
Áron Tóth spoke about the possibilities stemming from the combined use of Moodle and Microsoft Office365 elements.
Day 2 lectures:
Károly Hercegfi, Alexandra Tamás, and András Benedek discussed the difficulties with holding tests and exams for courses with wide attendance, tests and other methods to overcome these difficulties, as well as the options and importance of making open courses in Moodle and in general.
Feedback from those attending suggests, that not only were there good suggestions shared during the lectures, but that this initiative for sharing knowledge would be useful even on a university scale. Further collaboration of ideas could help accomplish goals that would make future education even more efficient.
