We would like to offer the opportunity to participate in a really interesting virtual zoom lecture on the 15th February 2021 which was part of the “Acute Danube Region” project funded by the Baden-Württemberg Foundation.
The project is coordinated as lead partner by the Europa Zentrum Baden-Württemberg, but takes place in conjunction with other universities in Vienna, Budapest, Cisinau and Ludwigsburg as part of the EU Danube Region Strategy.
Theme:
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is very much en vogue at present. Unfortunately, there is no deep knowledge, not even a common basic understanding about what AI is. The lecturers, Prof. Robert Müller-Török from the University of Public Administration and Finance Ludwigsburg and Prof. András Nemeslaki from the Budapest University of Technology and Economics are well aware that there is a huge number of courses, classes, lectures and other forms of communication on this topic available in the Internet and the clips on YouTube only would be sufficient to endure the longest COVID-19 lockdown imaginable. But they decided to browse through it and provide you with “The very best of all” compiled into an introductory lecture and in a language and mode which enables you to understand the basics independent from your personal background. No mathematical or technical degree is hence needed to watch it.
The lecture itself starts with the question what “reasoning”, what “thinking” and finally “intelligence” is, with references to philosophy and well-known great minds of the fields of history/philosophy. Then they make you familiar with the ways how a “stupid machine” can emulgate a human brain, hence become “intelligent” in the very sense of the word.
Moderator: Irina Cojocaru (Information Society Development Institute, Chisinau)
The lecture was jointly developed with Prof. Dr. András Nemeslaki, Budapest University of Technology and Economics.
All content will be in English. Both lectures allow the participants to ask questions to the lecturers.
