On 18 and 19 March, 2024, a group of experts will gather in Budapest at the EELISA Workshop on AI Ethics and Law. In four panel discussions, they will investigate the possible research directions in the topic, as well as the implications of regulation, especially on Copyright matters and the EU AI Act. The event will also feature a future forecasting method and a documentary screening.
Panel 1 – Research directions in ethics of AI: Transparency & Bias; Alignment & Existential Risks; Social Impact of AI; Gender and AI; Responsible Innovation Policy Research; The Political Economy of AI; Theological Perspectives of AI.
Panel 2 – The EU AI Act and other related regulation: The EU AI Act and its implications; regulatory strategies; sandboxes.
Panel 3 – AI vs. copyright: Artificial Authors; The future of creativity; Originality and Creativity as preconditions of Copyright protection and the AI.
Panel 4 – Synergies, future directions: Synergies between Ethics and Law; Future directions in research Ethics of AI and Law of AI; Education of ethics of AI and Law.
