Important changes regarding Erasmus+ staff mobility applications

2026.07.21.

First and foremost, we would like to thank our colleagues for not only use but also exceed the allocated funds of the Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences (GTK) for the 2024-26 Erasmus project! We would like to congratulate all of you!

The experiences gained through teaching, training, and professional mobility activities not only supported personal growth but also contributed to the educational, organizational, and international development of GTK.

This project ends on July 31, 2026, and we will begin using the next project’s funds – however, several changes will be implemented as part of this transition.

The new project phase brings with it new directions and priorities:

  • in the upcoming period, Staff Mobilities for Teaching (STA) will become a priority;
  • as well as support for courses and staff weeks in case of the Staff Mobility for Training (STT);
  • only faculty and staff with employment contracts or service agreements may travel – PhD students have numerous other options available: https://nki.bme.hu/node/6252
  • each Faculty can only apply for ONE group (more than 3 people) mobility during the 2026/2027 academic year and we prefer mobility programs that go beyond departmental interests and serve the interests of the Faculty as a whole.

We would like to draw your attention to a few important changes being implemented from July regarding the application procedure for Erasmus+ staff mobilities.

Between 15 July and 24 August 2026, the processing of applications at the Department of International Relations will be suspended. Applications submitted during this period will be processed only after 24 August.

Furthermore, in the coming period, a staff member may participate in no more than five Erasmus+ staff mobility projects per academic year. Applications must include a statement confirming approval by the head of department/institution/Dean’s Office.

The call for applications and further information can be found here.

Another important change to be mentioned is that, upon returning home, colleagues will no longer be asked to write a report but instead will be asked to fill out a questionnaire.

In case of any further questions regarding Erasmus+ staff mobility, please do not hesitate to contact erasmus@gtk.bme.hu.
