The BME GTK Carbon Calculator project was implemented within the framework of the BME RRF-2.1.2-21-2022-00005 grant. The project aimed to develop an online calculator which can determine the carbon footprint of BME GTK’s international and domestic mobility activities. The GTK Carbon Calculator provides both students and staff with the opportunity not only to raise awareness but also to offset emissions and make GTK’s processes more environmentally friendly. The implementation of the Carbon Calculator and the related carbon-neutrality programme of GTK align with the goals outlined in the Faculty’s mission statement.

As a responsible Faculty, GTK – in line with the goals expressed in its mission statement and strategies – takes over the annual carbon neutralization of completed outgoing international Erasmus+ mobility programmes from students and staff. For completed Erasmus+ mobilities, please send a PDF detailing the travel’s carbon emissions to karbonkalkulator@gtk.bme.hu.
