The Budapest University of Technology and Economics, with its more than 230 years of engineering education and 80 years of economics training, is the ideal environment for the Engineering Management program. It is no coincidence that our university was among the first in Hungary to launch this program, which has continuously been the leading training institution in the field for the past 20 years. The engineering manager speaks a common language with both engineering and economic professionals, possessing outstanding knowledge in the planning and development of management and technological processes, as well as understanding their economic and financial aspects. The curriculum includes knowledge from natural sciences, engineering, information technology, and management and organizational sciences, through which graduates successfully contribute to the management of complex technical-economic tasks, namely in the technical and economic planning, organization, implementation, and evaluation of technological processes. The program has a strong project-oriented nature and is closely linked to modern technologies, innovation, and contemporary management and financial knowledge.

Professional competencies to be acquired: analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, broad perspective, proactivity, project-oriented mindset, leadership skills, social skills, communication skills, presentation techniques, technical documentation preparation, digital competencies, programming. Studies can be continued in the master’s program in Engineering Management.

Graduates of Bachelor in Engineering Management can find, among others, career opportunities in fields requiring both management skills and engineering knowledge, such as quality management, service management, production management, project management, environmental management, engineering or management consulting. The compulsory internship in the curriculum helps students to find a suitable workplace, but our most dedicated students can continue their studies at our Master programmes.
