Erasmus+ Staff mobility for Teaching and Training

We would like to draw your attention to the Erasmus+ teaching and training staff mobility possibilities, which provide the opportunity to travel within and outside Europe. It aims to enhance participants’ skills, knowledge, and intercultural awareness through international experience and collaboration. By engaging in different educational systems and practices, participants gain new perspectives that can improve their work and institutions back home.

Under the terms of the grant awarded for the period ending July 31, 2026, a significant amount of funding is available for BME which can only be used for teaching and training staff mobility. This means that anyone who wishes to participate in an international mobility until the previously mentioned date is almost certain to be able to travel. The number of people that can travel abroad has no limit, therefore, colleagues that have previously already participated in an Erasmus+ mobility are encouraged to apply again.

What does Erasmus+ offer?

  • visiting universities abroad
  • holding presentations or lectures
  • establishing and continuing research cooperations
  • participation in different kinds of trainings (language courses, soft skills trainings, professional development trainings, etc.)
  • networking

Why should you apply?

  • simple application process: filling out a Word and an Excel document + submitting a copy of your ID card + attaching your employment contract or contract of mandate
  • adequate funding: currently, receiving the grant is almost guaranteed
  • flexibility: possibility to travel within and outside Europe
  • no limit in the number of people travelling: those who have already participated in Erasmus can apply again

Types of mobility:

  1. Staff Mobility for Teaching (STA) – only for lecturers
  • teaching activities exclusively at partner institutions (see list of partner universities)
  1. Staff Mobility for Training (STT) – for lecturers and other colleagues
  • lecturers: for cooperating on a joint programme, travelling abroad for a doctoral defense, developing a research plan, visiting a laboratory

Important: you CANNOT apply for a conference!

  • other colleagues: language courses, soft skills courses (e.g. presentation skills, conflict management, etc.), job shadowing, etc.

The minimum period of mobility is 2 days, while the maximum is 2 months. In case of the latter, a reasoning must be provided.
