Green Certificate

The Green Certificate, issued upon a student’s request, provides information about the knowledge acquired in the fields of environmental economics, environmental management, and sustainability, as well as the number of class hours completed. Based on the experience of our former students, this document may also provide an advantage when applying for jobs. The Green Certificate does not count as an accredited qualification.

If you would like to obtain a Green Certificate, you must meet the following requirements:

  1. Successful completion of at least five courses offered by the Department of Environmental Economics and Sustainability (course codes beginning with BMEGT42…). These courses may be completed during your bachelor’s programme, master’s programme, during the two programmes together, or during the Erasmus programme.

  1. The Green Certificate cannot be acquired by students participating in the
  • Regional and Environmental Economics MA (Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences),
  • Engineering Management MSc, Environmental management module specialization (Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences),
  • Environmental Engineering BSc, Environmental management specialization (Faculty of Chemical Technology and Biotechnology),
  • Environmental Engineering MSc, Environmental management specialization (Faculty of Chemical Technology and Biotechnology)

as for them, most of the courses required for the Green Certificate are mandatory.

  1. The Green Certificate can only be acquired by students participating in the Engineering Management BSc, Sustainability and environmental management module specialization (Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences), if they successfully complete at least 2 courses offered by the Department of Environmental Economics and Sustainability (course codes beginning with BMEGT42…) beyond the mandatory ones (not counting the Project work and Thesis courses).

IMPORTANT: Applications are aggregated once per semester, at the end of the examination period and after all grades have been recorded in the Neptun system. This is followed by the aggregated processing of data and notification regarding the options for collecting the Green Certificate.
